The vision of the National Council for Women Traditional Leaders (NCWTL) is, to be an active, vibrant and visible women traditional leadership in the nation. One of its key objectives is to mobilize women in all spheres of traditional leadership across the country, irrespective of age and educational attainment, to play more effective and efficient roles in advocacy, training, cultural promotion and preservation, essentially for community and national development.
One of such strategies evolved by the Council to engage the Queenmothers, women chiefs and other forms of traditional leaders from all the ten regions is the organization of a festival named “National Peace and Unity” (Adehyeman Mma) Festival. The focus is on forging national unity and peace, affirming our values and aspirations as a nation, strengthening the chords that bind us together as women, and creating opportunities for personal growth and development, from lessons that would be learnt from the festival.
